Our Donation Process Explained in 3 Easy Steps
At Kids Car Donations, we’ve made our donation process as hassle-free and convenient as possible for the benefit of our donors. We also provide free pick up and towing services wherever your vehicle is located.
1. You get in touch with us.
Either call us at 866-634-8395 or fill out our online donation form. We’ll be asking for certain details about your vehicle, such as its make and model, year, mileage, VIN, and working condition. We’ll then agree on a date, time, and place for the free pickup of your vehicle based on your own preference.
2. We haul your car away.
There’s no need for you to be around on the day of the towing. Just be sure to leave behind your vehicle’s title and keys for our driver to pick up since these items are required for the processing of your vehicle donation. No need to worry in case you’ve lost or misplaced your title. Just call us at 866-634-8395 and we’ll be happy to help you obtain a duplicate copy of your title.
We’ll issue you a tow receipt before we haul off your vehicle. You can use the receipt to cancel your car’s registration and insurance at your local DMV.
3. We send you your tax-deductible receipt by mail.
After we sold your donated vehicle at a local auction, we’ll send you by mail your 100% tax-deductible sales receipt. The receipt will indicate your vehicle’s final selling price. This serves as the basis for the amount of tax deduction that you can claim in the next tax season when you file your itemized federal income tax return.
