Our Easy-as-Pie Donation Process
At Kids Car Donations, we don’t want our donors to be hassled by a lengthy and complicated donation process. To prove our point, here’s a look at how our donation process works:
- STEP 1: Call
You can hand over your auto to our convertible donations program by calling us at 866-634-8395. We’ll ask a couple of basic questions about your car, such as its year, make, model, mileage, availability of its title, and general working condition. If you prefer to get in touch with us here on our website, feel free to fill out our online donation form.
- STEP 2: Set the time for your FREE vehicle pickup.
As soon as we verify the information you shared with us, we’ll call you back to set up a vehicle pickup schedule that’s convenient for you. We’ll send a licensed tow truck to where your vehicle is parked to haul it away. Before our driver leaves, they’ll issue you a towing receipt. This releases you from all liabilities on your donated vehicle from that point onward. You can also use the receipt to cancel your convertible’s insurance coverage and DMV registration.
- STEP 3: Receive your tax-deductible receipt.
Once we get hold of your vehicle, we’ll promptly have it auctioned off. Within days following the sale of your donated vehicle, we’ll mail to you its 100% tax-deductible sales receipt. If you use this document in itemizing your tax deductions on your federal income tax return, you’ll get a huge tax write-off

In most cases, we accept even completely undrivable vehicles. Since we require all donors to present their proof of ownership, the only vehicles we refuse to accept are those that have been abandoned or stolen.
